We were staying at the Stay on the Hill and went down to the Boatside Inn for a meal on our last night. The bar man was friendly and helpful and the food took around 10 mins from order to table. The food was fantastic and really tasty. The twice brewed beer (Name of the beer) was really nice. Would really recommend if you are in the area.

We came here the with a few girls from Langley Castle as we were there for a wedding the following day. The staff were pleasant. There was a good selection of both food and drinks. I had the mince and dumplings with mash and veg. All was very nice. The portion sizes were really good. Worth the money.

We enjoyed a sumptuous dinner at the Boatside Inn. The staff ensured that the evening got off to an excellent start with a warm welcome and drinks were served quickly and efficiently. All four of us had different main courses, all of which were enjoyed hugely.

I have to recommend in particular the Mixed Grill Kebab, a magnificent and varied plate of food which almost defeated me, but I persevered and demolished every morsel! No room for dessert, sadly. A really good evening. Many thanks.

We went whilst on a walk in the area and were very presently supprised over the diversity of the menu and the standard of food. We had the seafood pie and beef bourguignon.

They were delicious and came witin 10 minutes of odering. Plenty of veg . 2 meals and two pints for less than £40. What's not to like.

We were camping in the area and popped in for some dinner on a Friday evening. Got a table no problem, staff were very attentive and helpful.

We ordered a chicken burger & a beef burger and both were very good and good portion sizes. Really enjoyed!

Called in today for lunch on our journey from Cumbria to Newcastle. We had the gluten free fish pie and the pork Schnitzel. The service was excellent, we were given a table near the real fire which involved tables being rearranged to accommodate us . None of this was a problem. The food was hot, well presented and delicious. We were made to feel welcome and the price was great value for money. With my wife being coeliac, ie gluten free, it was refreshing to see plenty of choice on the menu without having to draw attention to the condition.

In addition, we would recommend the bar area as was modern clean and fresh and the ladies who served us couldn't have been more friendly and accommodating...thank you. Can't wait to return
